Report Wages
If you receive Supplemental Security Income (SSI) and are working, or are a spouse, parent, or sponsor for someone receiving SSI, you may report your monthly wages online.
We are accepting wage reports for the entire month of October 2022. If you need to report wages paid in November, check back beginning December 1, 2022.
Eligibility and Earnings
We cannot provide an estimate of your work credits because you recently applied for Social Security benefits or Medicare. You can contact your local Social Security office to verify any necessary information.
How You Qualify For Benefits
To qualify for benefits, you earn "credits" through your work - up to four each year. This year, for example, you earn one credit for each $1,510 of wages or self-employment income. When you've earned $6,040, you've earned your four credits for the year. Most people need 40 credits, earned over their working lifetime, to receive retirement benefits. For disability and survivors benefits, young people need fewer credits to be eligible.
We checked your records to see whether you have earned enough credits to qualify for benefits. If you haven't earned enough yet to qualify for any type of benefit, we can't give you a benefit estimate now. If you continue to work, we'll give you an estimate when you do qualify.
Plan For Retirement
Your full retirement age is 67, but you can retire as early as 62 with reduced benefits.
We’re having trouble providing your estimates. We cannot provide you benefit estimates online because you recently applied for Social Security benefits or Medicare. You can contact your local Social Security office to receive your benefit estimates.
You may be eligible for benefits as a current or former spouse.
Help with Spousal Benefit Estimates
You may be eligible for a benefit as a spouse equal to as much as half of what your spouse’s retirement benefit would be at their Full Retirement Age. The benefit amount is reduced by your own age at the time you elect to begin receiving your benefit as a spouse.
